Meet John Tkac

The English Composition Coach

John Tkac (pronounced Tack) earned a Bachelor’s Degree from The University of Notre Dame and a

 Master’s Degree from the University of Georgia. 


Most recently John was the English Composition Coach for the Florida Atlantic University Athletic Department. John is the author of two young adult novels. BOTH of these novels won gold medals in the Florida Book Awards.  


John lives in Delray Beach 

and is available for in person  or virtual tutoring.

 Most middle school students simply need to gain confidence in the art of writing. Word choice and the understanding of basic grammar is important. How to form concise and powerful sentences is critical. These skills can be developed with focused sessions. Moving into late middle school a student must be developing the ability to read and then express some understanding of the reading with the written word. The strategies for developing these critical thinking skills are important. Help is here.

 Tutoring sessions will provide strategies and techniques designed to give the high school student the ability to write in a cogent, concise, and captivating manner. Good writing develops good communication skills and good communication skills will last a lifetime. Editing services for essays is available. Guiding a student toward crafting the most fantastic standout college entrance personal essay is a specialty.

 Professors will tell students what to write but, in many cases, not how to write the essay. Here a student will be guided on how to write targeted thesis statements, gripping introductions, and powerful conclusions. Brainstorming sessions where we analyze the professor’s prompt is always valuable and remember that no subject is off limits. Content editing and proofreading services are available and personal statements for graduate school applications are a specialty.
